Before you hit the road, your safety and the protection of the motorhome are our top priorities. Taking a few minutes to complete this essential checklist will help prevent accidents, damage, and unpleasant surprises during your journey. Please go through every point carefully.
Motorhome Exterior & Systems Checklist (Must be completed before departure):
– Retract the entrance step completely and ensure it is locked in the travel position
– Close and lock all windows (including bathroom and bedroom windows)
– Close all roof vents and skylights securely
– Turn off the gas supply at the main propane valve (located in the gas bottle compartment)
– Switch off the water heater (both electric and gas modes)
– Turn off the heating system (furnace) and any air conditioning units
– Fold in and secure the awning completely (check that it is tightly fastened)
– Close and lock all external storage compartments and service doors
– Disconnect the shore power cable and store it properly
– Disconnect the fresh water hose and wastewater connection (if at a campsite)
– Visually inspect tires for pressure, damage, and proper inflation
Additional Important Checks:
– All internal cupboard doors and drawers are closed and secured
– Refrigerator and freezer doors are properly closed and locked
– No items are left on tables, counters, or beds
– Toilet cassette or waste tanks are not overfilled
– Fresh water tank level is sufficient for your journey
