Before Returning Your Motorhome: Simple Checklist for a Smooth Handover
The end of a motorhome journey is always a little bittersweet. To make the return process quick and stress-free, we have prepared a simple checklist of what should be done before handing the vehicle back to us.
The good news is that you do not need to perform a full professional cleaning. A normal level of road dust and exterior dirt is perfectly acceptable. We only ask you to return the motorhome in a tidy and well-prepared condition, ready for inspection and for the next travelers.
1. Refill the Fuel Tank and AddBlue
Please return the motorhome with:
- A full diesel tank
- AddBlue refilled
If the tank is not full, we will need to charge for the missing fuel plus an additional service fee.
2. Empty the Grey Water Tank
The grey water tank collects water from:
- The kitchen sink
- The bathroom sink
- The shower
Please drain the tank completely at a designated service point or campsite before returning the vehicle.
3. Empty and Rinse the Toilet Cassette
This is one of the most important steps.
Please:
- Remove the toilet cassette.
- Empty it at an approved disposal station.
- Rinse it thoroughly with clean water.
- Reinstall it properly.
A toilet cassette that is not emptied and rinsed may result in a cleaning charge.
4. Wash the Dishes
All dishes, cookware and kitchen utensils should be:
- Clean
- Dry
- Returned to their original places
This includes pots, pans, plates, cups and cutlery.
5. Remove Personal Belongings and Food
Before returning the motorhome, please check:
- Kitchen cabinets
- Refrigerator and freezer
- Bathroom cupboards
- Under the beds
- Garage and storage compartments
Take all food, clothing, chargers, toys and personal items with you.
6. Tidy Up the Interior
Please leave the motorhome in a neat condition:
- Dispose of all rubbish
- Sweep the floor if necessary
- Wipe up obvious spills
- Remove excessive dirt or sand
- Please pack the blankets and pillows into the provided bags
Normal use is expected, but unusually heavy soiling may incur additional cleaning charges.
7. Return All Equipment
Please make sure all supplied items are back in the motorhome, including:
- Keys
- Vehicle documents
- Camping table and chairs
- Electrical cables and adapters
- Water hose
- Wheel chocks
- Kitchen equipment
Any missing items may be charged from the security deposit.
8. Check Mandatory Safety Equipment
If you used any mandatory equipment, please replace it before returning the vehicle:
- First aid kit
- Fire extinguisher
- Tire repair kit
9. Arrive on Time
The return inspection usually takes at least 30 minutes, so please allow enough time in your schedule.
What You Do NOT Need to Do
You do not need to:
- Refill the fresh water tank
- Refill or replace gas cylinders
